Helping

Transforming: Livelihood

Francis who is devoted father of 5 (2boys and 3girls), speaks of the challenges the family faced before Marion became a Child Ambassador. As fisherman, the fishing restrictions imposed by the government had made it difficult for him to provide for his children. The program not only ensured Marion’s education but also allowed Francis to save money for other domestic needs.

“I now don’t have to worry about school fee since the biggest part is cleared by HUYSLINCI”

Participating in the Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) further empowered Francis to secure loans for school fees and daily necessities. The community, sustained by various CFTC-supported programs, witnessed positive transformations in financial stability and overall well-being.

As Francis expressed his gratitude to the HUYSLINCI, supported by CFTC, he acknowledged the broader impact on the community. From VSLA to culinary practices and kitchen garden training, these initiatives were sowing the seeds of change and prosperity.

“The fact that I have attended most of these trainings, mostly related to farming, I have gained skills and knowledge which I am putting to use when I am doing gardening”.

In the end, Marion and her family extended heartfelt thanks to Huyslinci for their unwavering support, echoing the sentiment of an entire community grateful for the transformative power of education and compassion. The tale of Marion’s dreams and the collective resilience of her community continued to inspire hope for a brighter future.

In an intimate interview, Francis painted a picture of Marion as a beacon of hope within the family. Her infectious joy, coupled with academic excellence, brought pride and optimism for a bright future. The challenges that plagued the Fisherman family before Marion’s enrollment in the Child Ambassador program were alleviated, and a sense of stability began to take root.
